"Entrelinhas" (or "Between the Lines") is a project for a digital service that aims to encourage reading by helping the user to insert the habit into their routine and offers a monthly subscription to send books based on their personal taste. The app also has a library with information and book recommendations for the user to explore, with suggestions from partner stores for a good price.

THE CHALLENGE

Plan and build a desktop or mobile platform to facilitate the creation and organization of book clubs.

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH: FORMS

For this project, I created a Google form about reading habits, to understand a little about the public and their main facilities and difficulties. I got a total of 65 responses.

USER'S PAIN POINTS

At the end of the research process and data gathering I defined the three main user pain points:

ROUTINE

Approximately 70% of the people who answered the form said they had problems inserting the habit of reading into their routine because they were always tired with the rush. Some pointed out that before the pandemic they used to take advantage of their commute time to read.

RECOMMENDATIONS

A considerable amount of people answered that they had problems when choosing something new because they lacked confidence in book recommendations.

There were also responses related to the high cost of books.

The main goal of Entrelinhas is that the user can not only have a monthly subscription to receive books, but also an incentive to store at the project's partner stores. In addition, the application allows the users to mark their current reading progress and evaluate books already read, just as they can see other users' evaluations of other books in the catalog.

The App also allows you to create events or schedule attendance at others, to meet with other readers, and discuss readings. The event can take place online or in person.

NEXT STEPS

FIRST​

Finish developing all screens for the complete flow of the service with the subscription options.

SECOND

Add accessibility issues pointed out to make the product inclusive.

THIRD

Map user journeys from usability tests with volunteers and thus refine the product for development.
